]]>“La Mer” beautifully represents the beach, with waves painted in the rich, deep colors reminiscent of the Black Sea during the summer months. I used real sand from the shores of the Black Sea to add a unique and tactile dimension to the piece. Therefore, I made this artwork not just a visual experience but also a tangible connection to the natural world. My inspiration for this piece is this photo taken by me in the summer:
I mixed acrylics with gesso to create a lifelike beach scene that evokes memories of sunny days spent by the sea. The waves are rendered in hues that are perfectly capturing the shimmering blues and greens of the Black Sea. Therefore, the real sand adds texture and authenticity, making you feel as if you can almost feel the grains between your toes. And yes, you can touch it and feel the sand whenever you wish to feel closer to the beach!
